I love creating and experimenting with patinas. Each is one of a kind, and I'm never 100% sure what I will get. Sometimes it turns out like I envision and I start with an embellishment in mind. Other times the finished cuff speaks and tells me what it is a picture of...what it wants to remind me of. Then I have to patina the perfect embellishment that works with the ambiance or find a vintage piece that flows right in with the mood of the cuff. Best therapy ever!
"Party Urchin" was fondly named because of the fab vintage embellishment I found that has a wonderful circular and spikey sea urchin vibe. (mid century 1940s-50s era probably) But this urchin is so dressed for a party! She is wearing pearls (not sure if faux or real) and gorgeous aqua blue stones. Lots of minute details with several layers of pearl-like beads and aqua stones. Such bling! Gorgeous with the watery fluid like patina I achieved, not a flat color but almost luminescent like a fish skin. Think of the glow you get in the pearlized inside of a abalone shell. Not as distinct as that but has a flavor of that. The water droplet shaped texture on the cuff combined with the shimmery finish picks up the light around it and changes somewhat in color depending on what it is near. Basically, you see some aged antique gold-tones along with coppery and silver blue hues regardless of lighting. Connects very well with the golds, aqua, & creams in the "urchin." This is a very 3-D bracelet. Vintage urchin measures 1 3/16" in diameter and 9/16" high off the cuff.
This is a 1 15/16" wide cuff, a tad short of 2". A gorgeous presence! I have a small 6" wrist and I wear this size all the time. But it will adjust to fit a much bigger wrist. Great for when you want some modest feminine bling. (: Yet, you can wear this with jeans also.

I love the creativity of working with different patinas and images to capture the diversity of the sea in jewelry. ( I do have other pieces which I have hand patinaed, each one of a kind.) As many of my bracelets, this is very much a 3-D creation.
I have a small wrist (6") and I love cuffs because they are adjustable. . The actual cuff in this listing measures about 5 6/8" if measured with a cloth tape around outside of band, not including the opening gap. In this photo, there is an additional 1 1/4" gap. If you measure from side to side at the widest part of the opening as it is adjusted in this photo, it is 2 1/2". But this can be expanded to fit almost any wrist or squeezed tighter to fit smaller. If you are unsure, measure around your wrist with a cloth measuring tape or string, send your measurement to me, and I'll find someone here that has your size and we'll see how it fits!
